Randy Kimpton
Randy Kimpton serves as Board President of Last Frontier Honor Flight. He spent 30 years with the Department of Defense, working extensively with the military commissary system. A lifelong Alaskan, Randy currently calls Anchorage home. He became involved with Honor Flight in 2017 while serving as a Guardian for his father-in-law, a World War II veteran. He considers his work with veterans and Last Frontier Honor Flight among the most meaningful experiences of his life. Outside of Honor Flight, Randy enjoys traveling with his wife and restoring his beloved classic British TR6 sports car.
Karla Shaw
Karla Shaw serves as the Vice President of the Last Frontier Honor Flight (LFHF) Board. She learned about LFHF in February 2014 and has been dedicated since then. She has been a Guardian on multiple LFHF missions for female and male veterans. Lifelong friendships have occurred from these trips. She has been an Alaska resident for over 53 years and is associated
with and in support of the military all of this time. In addition to Honor Flight duties, she is involved with Quilts of Valor, Anchorage Log Cabin Quilters Guild, being a gardener and enjoying the Alaska outdoors.
Brian Fay
Brian Fay acts as the Secretary for The Last Frontier Honor Flight, is a co-director of LFHF’s Departure and Homecoming events and manages digital and data. A 65-year resident of Alaska living in Palmer, Brian became involved with LFHF as the Guardian for his father, a WWII Veteran, on Mission 3, in 2014. He brings 22 years of non-profit and governmental Board experience and a broad range of volunteer history to the LFHF Board. When he is not preparing for the next Mission, Brian enjoys building houses with his partner, Jennifer.
Reta Vomela
Reta Vomela is the Treasurer and Trip Coordinator for The Last Frontier Honor Flight. Reta spent over 33 years with Northwest Airlines in their Budget division, then their cargo office Anchorage performing freighter weight and balance. She was a guardian on 4 trips starting in 2016 before joining their Board. Reta’s father served in the Marines during the Korean war, her
brother Air Force, and her nephew Army. She loves traveling with her husband and returns home to Minnesota often. Reta is honored to bring our veterans to DC to see their memorials, and receive the recognition and thanks they deserve.
Jennifer Isham
Jennifer Isham has been with LFHF since 2023 and is a member of the Mission Management Team, Guardian Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, and Departure and Homecoming Co-Coordinator. The daughter of an Army Vietnam veteran, Jennifer has a personal connection to the mission. Her years of special education classroom experience have given her the ability to
see and manage all of the moving parts that make the organization work. She’s passionate about encouraging younger veterans to become Guardians, ensuring the next generation stays connected to this important work. At every homecoming the bagpipes bring her to tears without fail. Jennifer plays flute with the Eagle River Chugiak Community Band.
Macey Kimpton
Macey Jo Kimpton is a lifelong Alaskan dedicated to serving veterans and her community. Her connection to Last Frontier Honor Flight began through her father, a World War II veteran. Today, she serves on the Board of Directors as Veteran Coordinator, personally reaching out to Alaska Veterans and inviting them to participate in an Honor Flight. A retired Anchorage School District teacher, Macey enjoys traveling with her husband and giving back to her community, including making handmade hot pads for families new to the United States. “To see the incredible change in our veterans is worth every effort we make.”
Chuck Szopa
Chuck Szopa serves as a Board Member with LFHF. Originally from Chicago, he served four years in the USAF at Elmendorf AFB beginning in January 1971. He connected with LFHF in late 2013 after seeing a story about it on the news. His most memorable experience was his first mission in May 2014, as a guardian for a WWII/Korean War veteran. During his career he worked supporting Alaskan businesses with risk management, surety bond, and insurance needs. During the summer he and his wife, Carol, chase salmon and halibut, while wintertime is spent chasing their ten grandchildren across the Lower 48.

She has served on the board of a large financial institution for 10 years and currently serves as secretary-treasurer. She brings a strong background in finance and logistic planning to LFHF.
Toni Peter
Toni Peter was drawn to LFHF through its commitment to honoring Alaska’s veterans and preserving their stories. Through her experience in strategic planning and stakeholder engagement, she supports the organization’s mission as a Board Member. Her connection to the veteran community is deeply personal: her husband serves in the Army, and both grandfathers served during World War II, including one who met her Parisian grandmother while serving in Normandy. She especially looks forward to welcoming veterans home from their Honor Flight journeys and hearing firsthand about their experiences. Outside of LFHF, Toni enjoys traveling and adventuring around Alaska with her pup.
