Last Frontier Honor Flight’s mission is to provide Alaska’s veterans with the honor flight they never asked for, but deeply deserved, so they may be honored, remembered, and thanked by a grateful nation.

I have never written to any publication before. However, my recent experience of having been chosen to go on a Last Frontier Honor Flight from Anchorage to Washington, D.C., on a five-day trip at no cost to the veteran has compelled me to do so.

I was very fortunate to be chosen to go to Washington DC on the Honor Flight. I was treated like royalty. I enjoyed it very much and I want to thank everyone that was involved in making it happen.

One thing I recall the most about the trip to Washington, DC were the greetings and welcomes at the Portland and DC airports. The waiting passengers, people coming out of the shops, some even came out of Alaska’s Horizon Boardroom. Amazing.
